Toilet Transfers and Hand Grip
A correct use of the handgrip by the leading arm during toilet transfers reduces maximum resultant force and/or moment on the trailing wrist and leading /trailing shoulder and elbow
- “Correct” = fingers are allowed to drape over the edge of the toilet or grasp a grab bar or armrest within the wheelchair user’s base of support during transfers.
- NO flat or fist hand position
