Transfers are essential for everyday living of individuals with SCI
- Individuals with paraplegia and tetraplegia retain independence by transferring themselves to cars, tubs, toilets, etc.
- On average, there is a need to perform 15-20 transfers every day
The frequency of required transfers makes SCI patients highly susceptible to upper limb injury and pain.

- Carpal tunnel syndrome

- Shoulder impingement syndrome
