Arm Placement for Transfer

Arm Placement

  • It is important during a head-hips transfer to keep:
    • The leading arm flexed
    • The leading arm close to the body
      • A closer leading arm results in less loading in the upper extremities and more stability towards the center of mass (COM)
    • The trunk flexed
      • The trunk should be nearly parallel to the ground.
